The certificate in Orthopedic and Trauma Medicine course is a specialized program designed to equip trainees with knowledge, skills and attitudes in the management of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. Through a blend of theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical practice, students will be equipped to handle complex orthopedic cases in various healthcare settings.

The program offers a structured pathway for healthcare professionals to gain specialized expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. By combining comprehensive theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical experience, this program equips participants with the skills and confidence to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients suffering from orthopedic and trauma-related conditions.

A crucial aspect of the Orthopedic and Trauma Medicine programs is the hands-on clinical experience it provides. Participants can work alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons and healthcare professionals in hospital settings, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation centers. This clinical exposure allows them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, honing their diagnostic and procedural skills under supervision.

COURSE LEVEL:

Certificate – Level 5

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

KCSE Mean Grade C- (Minus) and above with C- (Minus) in English/Kiswahili, C- (Minus) in Biology and D+ (Plus) in any one of Maths / Physics / Chemistry

DURATION:

Two (2) Years; Six (6) Terms

EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATION BODY:

TVET CDACC – (Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council)

PRACTICING LICENSE:

Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA)

INTAKES: December/January, April/May, August/September
